The details are horrifying.  A man has been charged in the death of two Lansing area women.  He was caught by authorities after trying to break into a third woman's home.

"There's no doubt he was on a killing spree," Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth said on Friday, adding there were two additional women the man intended to kill.  Those women were notified and are safe.

The suspect's former girlfriend spoke to WILX-TV, saying years ago the accused strangled her to the point that she blacked out.  He ended up serving time, but not as much as he might have, had she not agreed to a plea deal.

"I cried for myself that I should, I shouldn't have accepted, shouldn't have let the prosecutors give him that plea bargain. That maybe they would be alive."

Kaylee Ann Brock, 26, of Holt and Julie Ann Mooney, 32, of Williamston were tragically, brutally beaten to death.  Police say 27 year old Kiernan Brown has confessed.
