Police initially responded on Sunday morning to a call about a man peering in home and car windows in the area.  When he was approached by police, he pulled a gun.  He was able to run into nearby woods, prompting the day-long Sunday search by more than 50 law enforcement officers.  Nearby homes were evacuated for a period of time as authorities warned Rockwell was "armed & dangerous."

Late on Sunday night, authorities called off the search and said that they believed he was no longer in the area.

Sheriff’s Officials believe Rockwell may have also been involved in a car crash that occurred on Barnes & Edgar roads sometime before 6am on Sunday.
