Sen. Rick Jones, R-Grand Ledge, was honored on Tuesday by Special Olympics Michigan for his two decades of combined service to the nonprofit organization, including years as a volunteer and a fundraiser and six years on the board of directors.

Special Olympics Michigan President and CEO Tim Hileman presented the award to Jones in recognition of his dedication to helping provide year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Jones has taken the polar plunge nine times to help raise money for Special Olympics Michigan.
