The fight continues as race fans haven't stopped pouring funds into a GoFundMe
and even poured onto the streets of mid-Michigan on Sunday to show their support for saving Onondaga Dragway.
Three hundred cars paraded from the Mason Meijer parking lot, down US-127 to Onondaga Tavern on Sunday as part of a cruise-in to protest Onondaga being forced to close. Organizers had hoped for 30.
The GoFundMe hoped to collect $10,000 to encourage the track's lawyer to continue fighting on its behalf after a court of appeals setback; another in a six year legal challenge that supporters of the dragway have endured. A Hemmings article
details the history of the track and fight to keep it from closing for good.
By the way, that GoFundMe has now collected more than $70,000. The goal is now $500,000; money that will be used to pay the more than $300,000 in legal fees the track already owes.
