After a man shot Saginaw Township Police Officer Jeff Koenig in the face and shoulder during a traffic stop on Tuesday morning January 22nd, a manhunt ensued that moved from Saginaw County to Genesee County and eventually to the western edge of Shiawassee County. That's when a detective spotted the suspect, Joshua Rosebush, driving a van that had been reported stolen, Shiawassee County Sheriff Brian BeGole told MLive. It was --at least-- the third stolen vehicle Rosebush had driven that day.
Rosebush exited westbound I-69 at the Woodbury Road exit. The detective followed. Then Rosebush stopped, exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at the detective, BeGole said. The detective fired at Rosebush, striking him.

No one other than Rosebush was injured in that incident and Rosebush was taken into custody. He was transported to a hospital where he was to be kept under 24 hour guard.
A photo purported to have been taken at the time Rosebush was apprehended was posted to the Instagram account, Blue Line Pulse. The photo shows Rosebush face and shoulder bloodied; a point several relished in comments as karma at its finest.
