Capital Area District Library's Summer Reading Program Tackles 'Summer Slide'

WATCH: CADL's Scott Duimstra Tells A Universe of Stories

Capital Area District Libraries Summer Reading Challenge is on!

Kids can come in to read for prizes.  But the program isn't just for kids.  The program is also open to teens and adults as well, and Scott Duimstra, Executive Director of CADL, told WLNS-TV's Melissa Brennan adult engagement is particularly important, saying "That sets the standard for children."

Visit any branch or the website cadl.org/summer to find out more about A Universe of Stories, the theme of the summer reading program.  The program, and many summer events throughout the summer, are open to all people -- not just card holders.

Additionally, the Read Off Fines program allows kids to read in exchange for fine forgiveness up to $10.

The program runs now through August 10th.
